Perform administrative duties in the review and processing of automobile, liability, short term and long term disability, FMLA, and Workers' Compensation claims. Must obtain their State of Florida Independent All Lines Adjuster License (520) within one year of hire.


Day shift, Monday - Friday, Normal business hours


Twelve-month initial probationary period

Major Duties (Not Limited to the Following)

  • Review for accuracy and completeness automobile, liability, disability (e.g., short term, long term, FMLA), and/or Workers’ Compensation claims.
  • May maintain information on county, state, and federal FMLA and/or Workers’ Compensation rules and regulations.
  • Assist in the gathering of information and in the coordination of automobile, liability, short term and long term disability, FMLA, and/or Workers’ Compensation and employee termination processing actions with the applicable parties (e.g., claimants, attorneys, insurance company representatives, health care providers, repair shop representatives).
  • May advise agencies and department personnel in the preparation of state forms and payroll reporting.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Some knowledge of automobile, disability, FMLA, and/or Workers’ Compensation claims processing rules and regulations.
  • Ability to work effectively with the public and staff.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to prioritize work.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.
  • Ability to use a computer and related software.
  • Ability to prepare and maintain work related records and reports.

Minimum Qualifications

Note: Applicants must meet the following requirement(s) to be considered minimally qualified for the job.


Graduation from high school or possession of a GED Certificate; and
One year of experience in liability, disability, or Workers' Compensation claims service work; and

Possession of a State of Florida Independent All Lines Adjuster License (520) within the probationary period; and

A passing score on pre-employment testing; and

30 net words per minute on a typing test; or 100 gross keystrokes per minute with 90% accuracy on a data entry test.


Preferred Qualifications

Advanced experience utilizing Microsoft Excel.

Knowledge of all general lines insurance.

Additional Requirements

  • Possession of a valid Florida driver's license at time of employment. Driving history will be thoroughly reviewed and may be grounds for disqualification.
  • No illegal drug sale within lifetime.
  • No illegal drug use within the past 36 months.
  • No illegal drug use after 30 years of age.
  • No felony convictions within lifetime.
  • No misdemeanor convictions involving perjury, false statement, or domestic violence within lifetime.
  • Prior military personnel must not have a dishonorable discharge from any branch of the United States Armed Forces, the United States Coast Guard, National Guard, or Reserve Forces.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background investigation or update including polygraph, reference/employment/neighborhood checks, and medical evaluation.
