All candidates for this position are required to possess a valid certification by the State of Florida as a Law Enforcement Officer and be in compliance with FDLE requirements.
Perform law enforcement duties to maintain law and order in designated areas of Hillsborough County.
After selection, candidates will attend 8 weeks of classroom/practical module training.

Depending on assigned area of responsibility, incumbents in the position may perform some or all of the activities described below.
Note: Applicants must meet the following requirement(s) to be considered minimally qualified for the job.
Possession of a valid certification by the State of Florida as a Law Enforcement Officer; and
Three years of experience as a state, county, or city law enforcement officer; and
Currently employed as a certified law enforcement officer not pending any discipline or under active investigation; and
Be 21 years of age or older; and
Be a United States citizen; and
Successful completion of pre-employment testing including the Law Enforcement Basic Abilities Test (Law Enforcement BAT) and the Physical Efficiency Battery (PEB); and
Must live in Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, or Manatee County at the time of appointment.
Successful completion of the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Deputy Trainee program.
